At the end of this week, the technical hold on the decision to ban Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Maulana Masood Azhar imposed by China is set to expire. China blocked India’s move to ban the JEM leader on 31st March 2016 in the United Nations Security Council.
Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Maulana Masood Azhar is accused of planning and executing the Pathankot terrorist attack. He was to be banned under the 1267 sanctions committee of the United Nations Security Council.
This technical hold of China is set to expire at the end of this week and now China has to take a fresh decision regarding whether the it will ignore the hold or block India’s move. China global position regarding terrorism says that there should not be double standards on counter terrorism. But if now China again blocks the ban against Masood then it will reveal its real stance on global terrorism and openly display its all weather support to Pakistan.
The Indian line of action is supposed to line up more terrorist for ban if China blocks the ban against Masood. The other terrorists include the leaders of JeM and LeT.
