China again blocks India’s move to blacklist JeM Masood Azhar

All expectations in India regarding China reversing its stance over ban on Azhar Masood were dashed when China yet again blocked the Indian move to ban Masood. According to United Nation Security Council rules, if any motion is blocked twice by any permanent member of the United Nations then that becomes a permanent objection from that member country.

This means that the issue of banning Masood will not be taken up in UN Security Council anytime soon. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Mr. Vikas Swaroop has said that this move of China makes clear its double standards when it comes to dealing with international terrorism. This also shows that China is going to support Pakistan against India on many tricky and important issues in the near future.
